SHIFTING FROM DESIRE TO INTENTION – SHADOWING THE PROTOTYPE

We all desire certain things in life. The wisest man that ever lived, (King Solomon) wrote about God giving us the desires of our hearts. Although I believe in God giving us the desires of our hearts at the same time I believe that a wrong application of this proverb has left many in a world of, “Wish upon a Star,” kind of mind-set. What most believers don’t realize, is that Living Word or Holy Scripture, if not correctly applied in one’s life, can cause more harm, heartache and loss in one’s life and those around them, than any other single thing known to us.

Please understand, I am in no way discrediting the Bible or any holy text for that matter but what I believe I am doing is attempting to bring clarity and deeper understanding which will ultimately bring a greater respect one places on the holy text. King Solomon, along with many other Old Testament Kings, Prophets, Priests and Servants, spent most of his life living from a place of deep desire, a longing to experience something greater than himself, to see something supernatural. Now there was absolutely nothing wrong with that because it was relevant for them according to the time or epoch they lived in. But then came a man who changed everything. His name was Jesus the Christ. Can you for one minute imagine where we all would’ve ended up if Jesus was just like all the other great Old Testament men and woman of old who were fueled by their unquenchable desire to see God, to experience something beyond the natural or to see their generation redeemed? Where would we all be today?

Imagine the Son of God desiring to save the world, desiring to go to Calvary and hang on a cross? Where would we all be today if Jesus desired to resurrect from the dead?

The Power of Intention

What made Jesus so powerful, what set Him apart from all the rest, was the Power of Intention! From the very eternal portals of glory He set the Intention to come down to a world of chaos, pain and suffering to redeem all mankind. Later, when He discovered in the prophecies of the Torah who he truly was, he set the Intention to travel a certain journey through life, die on a cross and on the third day rise from the dead. You talk about Intention! He said this very thing to His disciples, “Behold, we go to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death…and the third day he shall rise again.” (Mark 10:33-34)

Here we clearly see a man applying the Power of Intention. This is no laying on the grass, uttering your desires to a clear starry sky and a cool summer’s breeze. Later in the Garden of Gethsemane we find the enemy of our souls using the intense human emotion of desire to try and sabotage the redemption assignment on the life of Jesus. Thankfully, He recognizes the voice of destruction and silences the enemy of His soul.

Jesus is the prototype for us all. What many don’t realize is that a lot changed after Jesus completed His assignment on the earth. We can no longer live our lives with anyone else prior to Jesus as our point of reference. As great as Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Ruth, Esther, Elijah and John the Baptist were, they were all part of a completely separate creation and order. Jesus said that those born of woman there has risen no man greater than John the Baptist but the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater.

Desire is a powerful human emotion. Desire is an emotion of wanting to have something or someone or a deep longing for some event to happen that’ll bring happiness or fulfillment.

While intention, on the other hand, is something that you have aimed or planned and nothing or no one is going to stop you from achieving that very thing. Intention draws a line in the sand and says, “All critics be gone” or “All voices and thoughts no longer serving me be still!”

Desire puts a Time-Distance factor between the present YOU and the end result YOU while Intention removes every form and definition of separation between your present reality and who you are in the future and this comes by believing, feeling and experiencing your end result in your present reality through living from your HeartCore.

We’ll continue in then ext blog post.
